What not to be missed in Tolhuin
Tolhuin, Heart of the island
This town is located in the central area of the Island, halfway between Ushuaia and Río Grande. Its name means “heart” in the Selk’nam language. The city of Tolhuin is located at the head of Lake Fagnano, which extends in an east-west direction for more than 100 kilometers, flowing into Chilean territory.
On the outskirts of Tolhuin you can find the Provincial Reserves Corazón de la Isla, Laguna Negra and Río Valdez. The visitor can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, camping and fishing in an environment of great natural beauty, made up of forests, lagoons, hills and rivers.
